Brendan Barrett is currently a 5th year student in the Architectural Engineering program at Penn State University. In May 2017, he will graduate with an Integrated Bachelor/Master of Architectural Engineering with a focus on structures. Brendan is planning on taking the FE Exam January 2017 so that he will become eligible for EIT status upon graduation. 

During the summer of 2015, Brendan had the opportunity to study abroad in China through the AE Department. He completed coursework studying international construction at Tsinghua University in Beijing, and courses through the Faculty of Architecture at Hong Kong University. The following summer Brendan interned for Hope Furrer Associates in Towson, MD. He assisted in the design and modeling of the gravity and lateral system of a university building using RAM and Revit. With Hope Furrer, Brendan was exposed to a wide variety of projects and responsibilities that make up the industry.

Brendan has been involved within the Architectural Engineering Program through the Student Society of Architectural Engineers and the Structural Engineering Association. With the Student Society of Architectural Engineers, Brendan has served on the executive board as Treasurer and President. Outside of school, Brendan enjoys any outdoor activity such as golfing, camping, and hiking.
